SYDMOB #35

Hey Hey Hey Mobbers,

We are back from battling a bad back, and are ready, once again, to lead you off in merry mayhem!

Please send a head count to tempest@sydmob.com with the number of people attending in the title bar.

On the afternoon of Sunday the 31st of July, you should have already synchronized your watch to the time of the Telstra clock, available by calling 1194. (Please do this, it does help mob timing)

By 12:45 pm you should be in the Circular Quay area,. Make your way to Jessie Street Gardens, the grass area at the back of Paragon Hotel on Loftus Street between Alfred & Bridge Rds.

*The Mob Rep will be only present between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm*

The mob rep will be carrying a silver folder and wearing a red, yellow and green Rastafarian hat.. They will be in the general vicinity of the Paragon Hotel. Approach this person and say. " I have missed you! Lead me into mad merriment"

You will be then handed the rest of the instructions. Move away, read them, and then follow them.

Mobbers are invited to hook up, post mob, for catch up drinks, and a giggle

SYDMOB #35
"We are glad you are back"

This act will be performed in two, almost identical, parts.
IE: We will repeat the act, 5 minutes after the first acts conclusion.
Keep your eye on the mob rep to take your cue for the second event.

Decide if you are going to be Paparazzi, (taking pictures), a well-wisher, (a person cheering and throwing rice, party poppers etc) or an autograph hunter/interview seeker.

By 2.25 you will have made your way to the George Street entrance of Wynyard Station. You will have located Bus Stop 412-413, which is opposite the HUNTER CONNECTION and the ST GEORGE BANK. The bus stop is just outside the entrance to DIGITAL CITY. You will notice the Mob Rep in the area, waiting for a bus. You will wait in the close vicinity of the mob rep, but keep "City Distance". We want small clusters of people, or closely scattered individuals, rather than a long queue.

Keep your props (Notepads, poppers, cameras etc) hidden, but within easy reach. You are just another passenger waiting for a bus. You may be a little bored, you may be with friends, talking nonsense, reading a paper, whatever, just killing time. When the appropriate bus pulls up, the mob rep will signal the start of the mob by whipping off their Rastafarian hat, and begin to cheer and clap excitedly! HOORAY! They are here!

Join in the excitement with lots of happy noise. Shout things like "Hurrah! Whoohoo! - Welcome Home! - Good Job! Well Done! - We have missed you!" etc Shower the passengers with rice, party poppers and wishes of good will! Take photos, request interviews or autographs. Show the love!

The 1st disperse will be signalled when the "Sydmob Janitor" appears, wearing a sailors cap, and using a long handled dust pan and broom to sweep up any mess our mobbing may have made.

At this point the mob rep will put the Rastafarian hat back on, and stroll off. Do the same.

SECOND ACT.

5 mins after the mock disperse, casually re-assemble, and follow the same instructions. You are welcome to change your "role" this time, or to repeat your performance. Take your cue from the mob rep, as you did before. This time, when we disperse, a lot of us will head back to the Paragon, for post mob post-mortem! Please feel free to come and join us for a laugh or two.

Well DONE Sydmob! You guys were fantastic!

We take our hats off to you!
Allow us to applaud each and every one of you! What great actors you are! Never have we seen more thoroughly convincingly casual people waiting for a bus.

Not only are you great actors, some of you are terribly good copy writers as well! The "reporter" who was over heard asking of a passenger. "So how was the bus ride?" "How are you enjoying the bus stop so far?" "There are rumours that you have been seen at this bus stop before? Can you confirm or deny these allegations?" Pure genius! Those are the sort of things that make it an utter delight to host a mob.

It was nice to see so many new faces, and to meet some of you post mob. If any of you have photos of today, pretty please send them to either mal@sydmob.com or tempest@sydmob.com as we would like to put them up on the web.
Next Mob will be on Sunday the 27th of August, in the afternoon. Spread the word!
For those of you who could not make it today, here is the script

So, see ya all next mob!
